Party for the Planet: Spring Into Action

May 18, 2019

"Spring into Action" and Get Involved in Conservation Efforts, Right Here in Our Community!

UPDATE: Thank you for your interest to participate in Rolling Hills Zoo’s and Friends of the River's Party for the Planet: Spring in to Action day, originally scheduled for May 4th from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Unfortunately, due to the abundance of rain we are seemingly scheduled to receive, we have decided to postpone our day to Saturday, May 18th.  We will still meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Kenwood Shelter #2 on Kenwood Park Drive.

We hope everyone is able to attend, please contact if circumstances will prevent you from attending.

This year’s Party for the Planet: Spring into Action will be held on

Saturday, May 18, 2019,
from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.,
at the Kenwood #2 Shelter House
821 Kenwood Park Drive, Salina.

During this event we, in partnership with the Friends of the River Foundation, are cleaning up the Smoky Hill River near and around the YMCA. Families, individuals, and work teams are invited to join us in wildlife conservation work in our own backyard.

Following our clean-up efforts we will be serving a light lunch. Pre-registration is appreciated so that we know how many to prepare for, but not required.

Please wear long sleeves and pants, closed toed shoes, and bring work gloves and insect repellent, and if you have loppers that you could bring, that would be great as well!

This is one important wildlife conservation effort you and your family can get involved in this spring.

This will help us to prepare the right amount of food for everyone.
