Taste of Adventure: India

March 30, 2019
Join us as Jared Bixby, Curator of Education at Sunset Zoo, and sloth bear conservationist, shares his knowledge of Wildlife SOS's efforts to save sloth bears & other Indian wildlife.
Cocktails at 6:00 p.m. • Dinner at 6:30 p.m.

A Salina native, Jared Bixby has been the Curator of Education at Sunset Zoo for over 10 years, and is on the leadership team that developed the conservation and research strategic plan which included the sloth bear/Wildlife SOS efforts.

In December 2009, Wildlife SOS rescued the last known sloth bear in India from the horrific dancing bear practice.  Since this historic day, Wildlife SOS has been at the forefront in India on sloth bear conservation.  Their ever expanding efforts have brought Wildlife SOS and numerous zoos accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums together for conservation, research and education.  Join Jared Bixby to hear first-hand accounts of Wildlife SOS’s efforts and what zoos together are doing with them to save sloth bears and other Indian wildlife.

Tandoori Chicken

Served with Na'an (Indian Flatbread)

Gulab Jamun for dessert - a sweet pastry with ice cream
