Seasonal Activities at Rolling Hills Zoo

Tram Rides
Tram rides are available weekends only from April 1 until Memorial weekend, and again from Labor Day through Thanksgiving. Trams run daily from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. The trams offer guests a narrated tour of the Zoo with six stops allowing guests the ability to ride to an area, get off and enjoy the exhibits, then catch another tram when it comes by. If you were to stay on the tram for the whole ride it would last approximately 50 min. Tram tickets are $3.00 per person and are good for the entire day.

Giraffe Feeding Station
Most summer weekends (Friday – Sunday) from 10:30 a.m. - Noon and 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.

Have you ever wanted to get up close and personal with a giraffe? Stop by the Zoo’s Giraffe Feeding Station and hear from one of our Zoo Teens about Zuri, Billie, B.T. and JoJo. You may even get a chance to feed one of the Zoo’s giraffes. (Cost is $2 for members, $3 for non-members)

Please remember – sometimes our giraffes are shy and may not want to eat but you can still have the opportunity to learn about these amazing animals from our Zoo Teens.

Zoo Teens will also be offering snow cones and face painting in the Giraffe Feeding Station as well.

Activities at the Giraffe Feeding Station are dependent upon weather and availability of Zoo Teens.

Keeper Encounters
Do you have questions about what the animals eat? Where they sleep at night? Or how they are taken care of?

Join the Rolling Hills Zoo keeper staff each Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer to find out the answers.

At various times throughout each day keepers will meet guests at animal exhibits to discuss the animals in their care. Make sure to check the schedule at the ticket booth when entering the Zoo.
