MEET CREED - OUR NEW RHINO CALF!

Rolling Hills Zoo is excited to announce the birth of a male southern white rhinoceros calf, born on February 8, 2026.

Mom, Evey (19), and baby are doing well and bonding, while animal care staff monitor them from a respectful distance.

Evey arrived at Rolling Hills Zoo in 2020, and the calf’s father, Kengele (27), joined in 2024. Their pairing was recommended by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Species Survival Plan (SSP), which helps ensure healthy, sustainable populations in accredited zoos.

At this time, the Rhino Barn is closed to allow mom and calf quiet bonding time. Staff are entering only when necessary and are monitoring the pair by camera.

Southern white rhinos are the second-largest land mammals and, while once brought back from near extinction, they still face serious threats from poaching. This calf represents an important step in protecting the future of the species.

Rolling Hills Zoo will share updates, photos, and information about future public viewing as the calf continues to grow and thrive.

WHEN CREEDS COLLIDE

It was a legendary first meeting at Rolling Hills Zoo when Creed Humphrey - Kansas City Chiefs standout center, 2x Super Bowl Champion (LVII, LVIII), and All-Pro powerhouse, along with his girlfriend Ana Demmer, came face-to-face with his adorable namesake… Creed the rhino calf!

From the very first moment, it was clear—this was a championship-level connection. The VIP, behind-the-scenes visit was packed with all the good stuff: brush scratches, ear rubs, and plenty of rhino love (aka Creed the calf’s all-time favorite play call).

our little guy is already an MVP in his own right, winning over hearts faster than a Chiefs touchdown drive at Arrowhead. And meeting the inspiration behind his name? Total full-circle moment.

Strength. Power. Heart. A little swagger. Yeah… both Creeds bring it.
